Our Stylists

Welcome!
We are all different.  And stunningly beautiful for it.  deNada delivers on offering you clothing that works for your lifestyle and for your body.  We will meet you at your game and provide you with off the shelf garments that fit and flatter your body.
deNada is a team sport.  We have a super team of highly trained stylists who can help you look and feel your best.  These girls will embrace you into deNada, like you’re guests arriving for a dinner party!  They will help to make your deNada experience warm, encouraging and empowering.  If you are looking for check out operators, you’ve come to the wrong supermarket!

Cherie Tidmarsh
Cherie was a ‘hospitality guru’ in times past.  Her guru status remains, but her energy is now channelled into helping our Wellington customers find “that outfit which makes you look and feel amazing”.

With a confident layered-and-colourful style for herself, Cherie isn’t afraid to help you stretch your comfort zone.

If you don’t know what you like, she will encourage you to try on everything!  Even if a garment’s not right, you will come to see what works and what doesn’t – each step taking you closer to the perfect outfit!

Her guru status falls flat when it comes to board games though – she sucks at Monoploy.  Hey ho – everyone’s got one weakness, lucky her strength is in style!

Kalya Sowden
Kalya is the “tech-y” in the team – it is Kalya who takes a concept drawing and turns it into a garment.

She pattern makes it, rocks the sample and then once we are all happy with it, she manages the style through production and onto the shelves.  She’s the sous-chef.

After graduating from Otago Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Design, Kalya earned her stripes in various well known NZ fashion houses and the costume departments of film/production studios.

You’ll find Kalya at deNada HQ, up to her elbows in fabric and pattern paper.  Kalya loves her job and her passion for it shows in her fine tailoring and attention to detail.

Her own style is dark and gritty with subtle femininity.  Layers please!

Kalya makes a flavour-mean curry… creating envy at lunchtimes in the workshop!

Kareen Williams
Fashion and retail are in Kareen’s blood. Helping a woman find the right clothing for her life, her body and her personality is something from which she derives great satisfaction.

Recognising the individuality of the client allows Kareen to assist her in her choices and if she is stepping into a new look or style, Kareen will be the sincere sounding board that is often sought. She is thrilled to see the empowerment that a woman can find with a new sense of self!

As a mum of three girls, Kareen understands fashion that must perform. From casual in the day, stepping across to chic in the evening, Kareen’s own style is testament to this. Although always fantastically presented, Kareen’s energy is still her greatest accessory!

She loves her job, the fashion and the deNada team. “When work doesn’t feel like work because you love what you do and where you do it, you know you are onto something special.”

Deborah Moore
Deb has always sewn – from small town “I want to look unique so I’ll sew it” beginnings, via a two-year fashion design course to many years of making one-off garments for friends and clients, and now, to leading the team/working /playing(!) in deNada’s new Palmerston North store.

Her own style is eclectic – layering, accessories, a splash of colour… but as a tribute to her punk rock days (!!) there is always a little black.

Deb is one to encourage you to “experiment, experiment and experiment some more – you just never know what might give you that ‘this feels like the me I want to be’ feeling.”

And, she’s a mad Sci-fi fan, intrigued and fascinated by the imagination behind it all. She’d secretly love to join her fellow sci-fi nerds at one of those big American conventions… and you never know, she might just dress up for it!

Kerri Tarpley
Kerri has been a stand-out creative through many years, and has covered two fabulously creative industries. Hailing from floristry, Kerri’s inspired ensembles now sit better on bodies than in vases!

Her flair for embellishment has transformed into a fixation with accessories – both for her own eclectic and edgy self, and in helping others to complete their outfit. Her top tip in styling – “Be true to yourself”. It’s all about finding garments that work with your body shape, your personality and your lifestyle.

Kerri is a true deNada ambassador. She has such great integrity – welcoming real women into a warm relaxing environment, giving exceptional customer service and adding her outstanding sense of style to the mix.

Her obsession with accessories is outmatched only by her passion for Peonies!

Rhyna Cottrell
Rhyna has had years of customer service experience and brings her own “evolving… classic, redefined” style to deNada.

A chatty persona sees Rhyna helping our customers accept and celebrate her body shape. “It’s all about empowerment through fashion”. And it’s that fashion – being surrounded by the colours and textures of the beautiful deNada garments – that further excites Rhyna about her job. (As it does with us all!)

In her spare time though you won’t find Rhyna anywhere near a floaty dress or some high heels – but rather she’ll be out on her adventure tourer motorbike!

Alison Kerr
After a solid corporate career Ali’s creative side took over and she broke free, returning to study Fashion Design and graduating from Otago University in 2011.

A lover of 50′s style clothing, Ali’s favourite piece of clothing has always been the dress so she is really enjoying the current trends, which see dresses taking centre stage.

Stylistically, Ali feels it is important for a woman to portray her own essence in an outfit, in conjunction with the outfit supporting the role that she is in at the time (motherhood, corporate warrior…).

She loves deNada for the colour and vitality of the styling, and makes special mention of the trousers… her own long legs mean that she knows from experience just how difficult it can be to find not only a good pair of trousers, but a great pair. DeNada’s trousers, catering for standard and long-legged women, sets us apart.

After three years studying, Ali is very pleased to be back in the Wellington area, close to family.

Natasha Lucioni
Like others in her Petone Team, Natasha has given up a high flying corporate career to allow her creative side to have it’s turn!

Her own “classic with a twist” style is ever present and she prefers dressing up to dressing down! Natasha says about finding your style… “If you learn to get your eye in with the styles and colours that suit you best, and you work the look – and variations of it – it’ll do wonders for your confidence. Having said that, don’t be afraid to try new looks!

She just loves to help a customer find an outfit that they love but never thought they could wear, and to see the real boost that that brings her.

Natasha’s not always been so cool though – she once played the love interest of Puss ‘N Boots in a local pantomime (oh dear!).
